Berst

System Requirements

We are serious about experience. Follow these steps to ensure you get the best out of Berst.

01

Browser

We recommend Google Chrome for the best experience. Berst runs entirely in your browser — no software download or installation required. Firefox, Edge, and Safari are also supported.

02

Power Settings

To prevent your device from throttling performance during meetings:

  • Mac: Go to System Preferences → Battery and switch off Low Power Mode.
  • Windows: Go to Power Options and select Best Performance.
03

Bandwidth

A minimum of 4 Mbps upload and download per participant is required for a reliable experience. We recommend a wired connection where possible. If you are on Wi-Fi, ensure you have a strong signal.

04

Microphone & Webcam

You will need to grant your browser permission to access your microphone and webcam when prompted. If you are not seeing a permission prompt, check your browser settings to ensure access is not blocked for berst.io.

05

Screen Sharing

On Mac, you will need to enable Screen Recording permission for your browser: go to System Preferences → Security & Privacy → Privacy → Screen Recording and enable your browser.

On Windows, screen sharing is available without additional configuration.

06

Network

Berst requires the following ports to be open on your network or firewall:

  • TCP 443 — HTTPS (signalling and fallback media)
  • UDP 10000 — Media traffic (audio/video)

If you are behind a corporate firewall or proxy, please ask your IT team to whitelist the following domains:

  • meet.berst.io
  • *.8x8.vc
  • *.jitsi.net
